Digital security firm Avast claims that it has found more than 19,300 apps in the Google Play Store that could also leak users' personal information due to flaws in the Firebase database. In fact, Firebase is a tool used by Android developers to store user data.
According to Avast statistics, the company's researchers were examining 180,300 Firebase-dependent apps. More than 10 percent of apps appear to have Firebase 'open'. The gap is due to misconfiguration by app developers. It can also leak user information. Users' private personal information can easily be stolen.
