The Dhaka Times Desk October 18 is the third death anniversary of country's famous singer and music director Ayub Bachchu. He left us on this day in 2018.
Ayub Bachchu was born on August 16, 1962 in a noble family of Chittagong. Ayub Bachchu formed a band called 'Golden Boys' with his friends during his college life. Although later it was renamed 'Ugly Boys'. Their band used to sing at weddings, birthdays and other small events. Ayub Bachchu's friends at one time scattered in different directions. Then Ayub Bachchu joined the band 'Feelings'. Then in 1980 he joined the band 'Souls'. He was responsible for playing lead guitar in this band for 10 consecutive years. Then Ayub Bachchu formed a new band 'LRB' on April 5, 1991.
Ayub Bachchu was unrivaled in stage performance. Known to the audience as 'AB', this virtuoso's real nickname is Robin. Ayub Bachchu aka 'AB' has captivated the audience by singing modern, classical and folk songs, although he has a rock-style voice.
Notable among his numerous popular songs are- 'Sei Tu Keno Ati Achena Hala', 'Ek Akasher Tara Tui Eka Gunisni', 'Ekhan Many Raat', 'Ami Baro Mas Tohe Love', 'Ural Debo Akashe', 'Haste Dekho Gaite'. Look at 'this silver guitar one day...' etc.
Ayub Bachchu's first album 'Raktogolap' was released in 1986. However, this album was not a huge success. Ayub Bachchu's success started with his second solo album 'Maina' in 1988. Then in 1991, Bachchu formed the band 'LRB'. His first band album with this band was 'LRB' released in 1992. This is the first double album of Bangladesh. The songs of this album, 'Khesh Chiti Keman Mon Chiti', 'Ghoom Bhanga Gardei', 'Hawker' became very popular.
Chittagong Musicians Club has organized discussion and doa mahfil on Monday evening in memory of rock icon Ayub Bachchu. The event was held at the Celebration Community Point of Moghbazar in the capital at 6:30 pm.
According to the organizers, Ayub Bachchu brought a new dimension to country music. Several generations grew up listening to his music. At the same time, many artists and musicians also got the opportunity to step into the world of music by holding his hand. His contribution to the country's music will never be forgotten. Through creation, he will live in the hearts of Bengalis for ages. On the death anniversary of Nandit, we express our deepest respect and love.
