The mosque you see is a 450 year old mosque in Natore. It is a historical mosque. It was discovered last year.
In Gurdaspur, Natore, the local administration has launched a search operation for historical structures and antiquities. Following this, he found an ancient mosque built around 1565 AD in Kusumhati village of Nazirpur union of the upazila.
It is known that the length of the mosque is 37 feet 6 inches and the width is 15 feet 8 inches. This mosque has 3 domes. The fear of the wall is 3 feet. The circumference of the central large dome is 39 feet 8 inches. On the east side are two doorways - 2 feet 7 inches in length. Built with brick, lime and stucco, the mosque has similar designs inside and out.
40 worshipers can pray together in two rows separately. Botanic plants and weeds have grown in dome 3. Tree roots penetrate the roof and cause cracks. The mosque is now in a derelict state due to prolonged neglect and infiltration of rainwater during monsoons.
It is known that there are several historical mosques of this type in different places of this upazila. Meanwhile Shahi Jame Masjid of Chapila, Gopinathpur-Brigarila Jame Masjid and Patpara Jame Masjid are found. The local upazila administration has said that they have taken initiatives to restore and renovate them.
