Aishi, the daughter of the slain police officer, is involved in the murder of her parents

The Dhaka Times Desk Police officer Mahfuzur Rahman and his wife Swapna have admitted to the detectives that their daughter Oishi was involved in the killing yesterday.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Media Wing Deputy Commissioner Masudur Rahman said that their only daughter Oishi Rahman (17) is being interrogated in connection with the killing of a police officer along with his wife sometime yesterday in the capital's Chamelibag house. However, apart from Oishi, among the remaining 4 people, there is also a maid of their house, TV news and news media said.

Last Friday night, the two security guards of that house in Chamelibagh, Mohammad Motaleb and Mohammad Shaheen, were taken to the Detective Police (DB) office. It is believed that they are also being interrogated. However, the police have not yet confirmed who is involved in the murder.

At noon, an autopsy was conducted on the bodies of the deceased police officer Mahfuzur Rahman and his wife Sapna Rahman at the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Assistant Professor Sohel Mahmud of Forensic Department of Dhaka Medical College conducted the autopsy. He said that Mahfuzur had two serious injuries on his body and Sapna had 11 injuries on different parts of her body. He said, looking at the nature of the injuries, it seems that more than one person could be involved in the murder. The viscera of the two deceased have been collected and sent to the Mohakhali laboratory. After the autopsy, the Janaza of Mahfuzur Rahman and his wife Sapna Rahman was held in front of the Rajarbagh Bara Mosque. From there, a large police vehicle took the bodies of both of them and left for Mahfuzur Rahman's village home, Haluaghat, Mymensingh. Mahfuzur Rahman's family members said that the two bodies will be buried there.

In this incident, a case has been registered against unknown persons in Paltan police station in the morning. Moshihur Rahman, the younger brother of deceased Mahfuzur Rahman, filed the case as the plaintiff.

It is to be noted that before this, Oishi went to Paltan police station at around 2 pm, said Ashrafuzzaman, Deputy Commissioner of Motijheel Division. He said he looked tired at that time. Detective Police (DB) sources said, today, Oishi Rahman was taken from Paltan police station to the DB office at Minto Road in the capital. After the incident, the DB officials visited the places where Oishi was. At that time Oishi was also with them. Paltan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Golam Sarwar confirmed the truth of the information.
