After the ad aired, it drew national attention and criticism for its gender insensitivity.
After being heavily criticized, the Seoul-based company apologized to the public in a tweet and expressed its sincere regret.
The ad shows a group of women practicing yoga in an open field and a man climbing a tree secretly filming them. At one point in the video, when the man falls from the tree, the women in the field turn into cows.
After the public backlash, the company removed their advertisement video from its own YouTube channel, but the video went viral among internet users. Secretly photographing women is also seen as a serious crime by the public in Seoul.
Criticism was not limited to the depiction of women as cows in advertisements, but Ko Ko expressed concern over the issue. Said that women were photographed on hidden cameras. Because in recent years, the practice of taking pictures of women with hidden cameras has been increasing in South Korea.
