The report, citing China Daily.com, said that eight more people were injured in the incident. Last Saturday around 3:30 pm local time, a 500 meter long section of the flyover connecting two expressways in Ijo town of the province collapsed suddenly.
Due to this, 3 trucks on that part of the flyover fell down and a car underneath was crushed. After the accident, traffic was stopped in the area. Rescue teams including fire brigade, police and medical personnel rushed to the spot.
China's Ministry of Transport sent bridge experts to investigate the incident after part of the flyover collapsed. The ministry has also directed the local transport department to investigate the situation.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a truck carrying extra goods weighing 198 MT fell off the flyover and broke into two pieces, taking two other trucks down with it. An investigation is underway to find out the actual cause of the incident.
