Accordingly, Bangladesh Railway has taken a new decision regarding the sale of train tickets. The bus will also run with half the passengers. It will be implemented from tomorrow (Thursday).
From January 15, all intercity trains will run with half the number of passengers. That is, Bangladesh Railway will sell half the tickets of the total number of seats. Of this 50 percent, half the tickets will be sold online, while the rest will be available at the counter. On the other hand, according to the latest news, the bus fare is not increasing. Buses will also ply with half the passengers from Saturday. However, many bus owners are unhappy due to the non-increase in fares. Due to which the passengers are afraid that there may be a shortage of buses from Saturday.

A notification has been issued by the government restricting all activities and movement to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease. It has been instructed to operate trains, buses and launches with half capacity passengers from January 13 (Thursday).
Some amendments were also made in the sale of tickets by ensuring social distancing and use of masks for the health and safety of railway officials and passengers in the operation of passenger inter-city trains.
These are:
1. Inter-city trains will sell half the existing number of seats to ensure social distancing of passengers.
2. Half of the reduced number of seats i.e. 25 percent of the total number of seats will be available at the ticket counters. The remaining half of the seats i.e. 25 percent of the total number of seats will be issued through mobile app or online.
3. The sale of standing tickets and station platform tickets for inter-city trains will be completely stopped.
4. All types of quota systems will be abolished in the sale of inter-city train tickets except for the quota as per the emergency quota and manual approved by the Ministry of Railways.
5. Passengers must be ensured to wear masks while traveling on trains and ticket sales at counters.
6. Catering services and overnight bedding will be provided in inter-city trains in strict compliance with the prevailing norms and hygiene rules.
The order also said that the amendments will be implemented from January 15. In this case, the tickets issued from time to time and other hygiene regulations will remain unchanged.
