The Dhaka Times Desk Film actress Raima Islam Shimu (35) was killed due to family dispute. Initially, Dhaka District Superintendent of Police (SP) Maruf Hossain Sardar told the media.
He gave all this information in a press conference at the Dhaka District Police Superintendent's office on Tuesday (January 18) at noon.
SP Maruf Hussain Sardar said, "During preliminary interrogation, Shimu's husband Shakhawat Ali, who was arrested, also confessed to killing Nobel model Shimu."
Earlier on Monday (January 17) at around 10 am, the police recovered the sacked body of actress Raima Islam Shimu a day after she went missing from Hazratpur Bridge in Keraniganj. Later, the recovered body was taken to Dhaka's Mitford Hospital.
It should be mentioned that Raima Islam Shimu first acted in the movie 'Vartaman' directed by Kazi Hayat in 1998. Then till 2004 actress Raima Islam Shimu acted in about 25 movies of Chashi Nazrul Islam, Delwar Jahan Jhantu, Sharif Uddin Khan Dipu and several other directors. Sheamus was also commuting to FDC for the past two years. He was also among the 184 artists disenfranchised by the Shilpi Samiti. He was also seen in various suffrage movements. He also occasionally worked in dramas. Recently, actress Raima Islam Shimu acted in a series called 'Family Crisis'.
