The Dhaka Times Desk The government has decided to give Ekushey Padak this year to 24 geniuses of the country in recognition of their important contributions in various fields. Out of which 5 have been posthumously awarded Ekushey Padak.
Today Thursday (February 3) in a list signed by Babul Mia, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, the names of 24 distinguished persons awarded with Ekushey Padak have been published.
This year, the recipients of the Ekushey Medal are:
Mustafa M. in the language movement. A. Matin (posthumous) and Mirza Tofazzal Hossain Mukul (posthumous). In art Zeenat Barkatullah, Nazrul Islam Babu (posthumous), Iqbal Ahmed, Mahmudur Rahman Renu, Khaled Mahmud Khan (posthumous), Afzal Hossain, Masum Aziz. Alhaj principal in the liberation war. Matiur Rahman, Syed Moazzem Ali (posthumous), Q.ABM Rahman, Amjad Ali Khandkar. MA Malek in Journalism. In science and technology. Anwar Hossain, Professor of Education. Gautam Buddha Das, S. in social service. M. Abraham Lincoln and Sangharaj Gnanashree Mahathir. Poet Kamal Chowdhury and Jharna Das Purkayastha in language and literature. Research Dr. Md. Abdus Sattar Mandal, Dr. Md. Enamul Haque (team member, team leader), Dr. Shahnaz Sultana (group), Dr. Jannatul Ferdous (group).
