Last January, 8,000 cars were sold in Norway, of which 84 percent were electric. Norway has set a target of completely phasing out the sale of fossil fuel-powered vehicles by 2025. At the same time, Norway is moving forward with the goal of reaching 80 percent of electric vehicle sales among all types of vehicles by 2022.
According to statistics from Norway's Insion Council for Road Traffic, sales of electric vehicles in Norway last month increased by 53 percent compared to January of the previous year.
Norway set a new world record for electric vehicle sales last year, overtaking fossil fuel-powered vehicles. Hence the subsidy contribution given by the country's government in various sectors is mentioned. Only 387 ICE (Internal Combustion) engine powered cars were sold in Norway last month, which is really surprising! Due to which the sales of such vehicles are estimated to increase at a significant rate.
