The Dhaka Times Desk 25 thousand 251 committed suicide in last 2 years due to unemployment and debt in India. This information was given by the country's Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityananda Rai in Parliament yesterday (February 9).
According to the information given by him, these suicides occurred between 2018 and 2020 in India. Out of which 9 thousand 140 people committed suicide due to unemployment and 16 thousand 91 people committed suicide due to debt.
Nityanand Rai also said that the number of deaths due to unemployment in India was 2 thousand 741 in 2018, in 2019 it increased to 2 thousand 851 and in 2020 this number increased to 3 thousand 548.
On the other hand, 4 thousand 970 people committed suicide in 2018, 5 thousand 908 in 2019 and 5 thousand 213 in 2020.
