This mosque was established in 1667. It is typical of Mughal architecture. This mosque has 3 domes. This Andarqilla Shahi Jame Masjid located in Chittagong, Bangladesh is considered as a traditional architectural art.

It is found in history, the story of Chittagong victory of Mughals is related with Andarqilla of Chattogram in Chittagong. This fort or fort was once a hideout for Mughal and Portuguese pirates.

জানা যায়, ১৬৬৬ খ্রিষ্টাব্দের ২৭ জানুয়ারি শায়েস্তা খাঁ’র ছেলে উমেদ খাঁ এই আন্দরকিল্লার অন্দরে কিংবা ভিতরে প্রবেশ করার কারণে এর নাম হয়ে যায় “আন্দরকিল্লা”।

জানা যায়, চট্টগ্রাম বিজয়ের স্মৃতি ধরে রাখতেই সম্রাট আওরঙ্গজেবের নির্দেশে শায়েস্তা খাঁ ১৬৬৭ খ্রিষ্টাব্দে এখানে নির্মাণ করেন এই “আন্দরকিল্লা শাহী জামে মসজিদ”।

The architecture and structure of this Andarqilla Jame Masjid is built according to the Mughal style. This mosque is located on a small hill about 30 feet above the plain.
