A dome mosque between Sikdar and Kazi Bari of Damudya Municipality of Shariatpur is Shariatpur and the largest mosque in Bangladesh.
This mosque, which is more than 800 years old, is still being maintained by the locals. The interior of this mosque has been renovated several times, modernized and the balcony part has been increased, but the locals want to preserve the original tradition of this mosque by preserving the outer part.
Many such mosques were built in this area probably in the 17th century when those who came to spread Islam in Bangladesh. Many also identify it as Fatemi Masjid or Babri Masjid. Along with this mosque, the rest of the mosques in the district have been changed and expanded, but there has been no change in the main infrastructure of this mosque. The 9 feet by 8 feet length and width imsjid can currently accommodate 50/60 worshipers due to the balcony.
