New features this time include playing and pausing voice messages while recording, keeping voice messages playing even after exiting the chat, displaying waveforms while messages are playing, and the ability to increase playback speed from one and a half to two times, etc.
Play voice messages
From now on, you don't have to open the chatbox of the person concerned to listen to the voice message sent by someone. Normal WhatsApp users can stop in the middle of recording a voice message and start recording again later. WhatsApp began testing the feature on iPhones in January, then rolled it out to beta versions of the Android and desktop apps.

Now when playing a voice note, users will see a wavy line or voice waveform next to the play/pause button instead of a straight line.
