The president of Ukraine was asked by CNN journalist Jack Tapper, what answer would you give to people who say that the eastern part of Ukraine should be handed over to Russia to stop the war?
In response, he said, in the hundred-year-old history of Ukraine, Ukraine has either taken control of some territories or the need to leave some territories has arisen. The people of Ukraine and our country are absolutely clear: we do not want anyone else's territory and we will not give our own territory to anyone.
In that interview, Zelensky also said, we can never leave our territory. But we must have some dialogue with Russia if they are able. We are still ready for that. But day by day this opportunity is decreasing.
He thinks that after what happened in the cities of Bucha, Borodiyanka and Mariupol, many Ukrainians will not be in favor of reconciliation with Russia.
Referring to the fact that Ukraine recently declared victory in Kiev, Tapper asked whether Zelensky believed that they would win in the east.
