Dream Padma bridge and hope of Bengali nation

The Dhaka Times Desk Padma Bridge is the pride of the entire Bengali nation. It is a dream of the Bengali nation. People have been waiting for years to see the implementation of this Padma Bridge. Which is now on the verge of implementation.

There is vitality among the people of Padmapar. Because their communication system will undergo radical changes. People from every field can come and go to Dhaka for any kind of need in a very short time. The fish caught by the people of Padmapar could never go to Dhaka market. But thousands of tons of fish are produced here. From medicine to business, everything will change because of this Padma bridge. So enthusiasm is being observed among the people of this area i.e. Padmapar.

On the other hand, Mongla port has also become operational. Work has also started on Payra Port. Both are located in the southern region. However, it is expected that there will be a big dynamic in the agricultural economy in the beginning. Because of the bridge, agricultural products of all kinds can reach their most desired markets quickly and easily. This is a great find.

The districts which are expected to directly benefit from the Padma Bridge are Khulna, Bagerhat, Jessore, Narail, Satkhira, Kushtia, Meherpur, Chuadanga, Jhenaidah and Magura. On the other hand, Barisal, Bhola, Pirojpur, Patuakhali, Barguna and Jhalkathi of Barisal division and Faridpur, Gopalganj, Madaripur, Shariatpur and Rajbari districts of Dhaka division will benefit from this Padma bridge.

For example, fish from Khulna and Bagerhat, vegetables and flowers from Jessore, paddy and betel nut from Barisal are the basis of the agricultural economy of the entire South Western region. Although rice and fish are cultivated in every district there. A large amount of fish also comes from natural sources as rivers and streams.

All in all, this Padma bridge will bring great changes in the country's economy. This dream bridge is now in the last stage of implementation. Padma Sewat is almost completely ready. Just waiting for the opening. And that hour is 10 am on June 25. All preparations have already been completed. Padma Bridge will be inaugurated with a grand event at Padmapad.

However, many people are disappointed with the name of this Padma Bridge. And that is that the names of the bridges or institutions in Bangladesh are not consistent with the person named. One government did it, another government came and named them after them. But the Padma Bridge was above it. Because the Awami League government is the proud claimant in the implementation of this Padma Bridge. Because the current Awami League government i.e. Sheikh Hasina's government implemented it with its own funding after the withdrawal of aid agencies including the World Bank. Its implementation has been possible due to the strong attitude of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Because of which everyone thought that this bridge will be named after him i.e. 'Sheikh Hasina Bridge'. And that was appropriate. But as honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina did not agree to it, Padma Bridge was finally named after Padma River. It can be said here, this can also be called the generosity of the current Prime Minister.

But the last thing is that the Padma Bridge is the pride of the Bengali nation. Such a big building will be considered as a milestone in the history of our Bangladesh. It is our hope that the next governments will also take the initiative to build Trimukhi II Padma Bridge at Aricha-Daulatdia-Nagarbari in the future.
