The Dhaka Times Desk German carmaker Mercedes-Benz has announced a worldwide recall of around 1 million old cars. The company has taken this step due to a fault in their braking system.
British media reported yesterday (Monday) that the company said on Sunday that it had already contacted the car owners about the fault in the brake system. Due to which a total of 9 lakh 93 thousand 407 cars in the world will be recalled. Of which there are 70 thousand cars in Germany alone. Mercedes recalled about the same number of cars last year due to safety issues with the emergency call system.
The company also said that the recalled vehicles were manufactured between 2004 and 2015. These are the ML and GL series of their SUVs and luxury R-Class minivans.
Meanwhile, Mercedes also said that possible braking systems of the recalled vehicles will be tested and parts will be replaced if necessary.
