Jago Foundation is managing the activities of Banani School (Karail) in the capital. About 500 students are getting free education in this school. This material is distributed among them.
The education sector is at risk after the global pandemic hit the country. In particular, children from marginal income groups are lagging behind in educational opportunities. According to UNICEF data, the future of 3.7 million children in the country is at risk due to disruptions caused by the global pandemic, including prolonged school closures. In this situation, IMO as a socially responsible organization has come forward to ensure the educational opportunities of underprivileged children. Emo has partnered with Jago Foundation, a non-profit development organization committed to eradicating poverty through education and improving the quality of life of people in developed Bangladesh, by distributing educational materials to students.
Banani School student Sumaiya Akhtar Rumi said about this initiative, “My dream was to become a doctor. With the help of Jago I can fulfill my dreams. Today Imo has given us educational materials. Thanks to them for that. These stationery items will make our education more enjoyable and effective.” Karvi Raksand Dhrub, Executive Director of Jago Foundation, said, “Since the outbreak of the global pandemic, it has been a struggle to continue education for underprivileged children; Such initiatives are very important at this time. I think this is indeed a good step and such initiative will help the education sector of the country to face the crisis. I believe others will be inspired by Emo and take great initiatives.”
