The Dhaka Times Desk Leaders of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) paid their respects by placing wreaths at the tomb of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungipara.
On Friday (August 5, 2022), BASIS President Russell T Ahmed led BASIS Executive Council and BASIS Advisory Standing Committee leaders participated in it. After paying their respects, they participated in Fateha recitation and special prayer, seeking forgiveness for the souls of Bangabandhu and his martyred family members.
The journey of BASIS leaders started from the front of Jatiya Sangsad Bhavan at 7 am on Friday. They crossed the Padma Bridge and reached Tungipara in Gopalganj around 10 am. Along with paying respects and prayers, various activities are held throughout the day. BASIS President Russell T Ahmed said August is a sad month for our nation. In this month Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the best father of the Bengali nation for a thousand years, was killed in his own family, a scandalous chapter of history was written. We should remember the sacrifice of Bangabandhu and his family members with respect, dignity and solemnity. For that purpose, BASIS Executive Council and Advisory Standing Committee members have participated in this event.
