The Dhaka Times Desk Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited (BPBL), the country's leading paint solutions brand, unveiled the Berger Award for Excellence in Architecture (BAEA) in collaboration with the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB) at a press conference at Gulshan Club in the capital.
Architect Kazi M Arif told the media about the various issues of this award in the press conference. Besides, he also unveiled the trophy which was designed for the first time by renowned artist Md. Hamidduzzaman. IAB President Architect Mobashwer Hossain, Berger Managing Director Rupali Chowdhury, Senior General Manager of Sales and Marketing of the company were also present at the event. Mohsin Habib Chowdhury, PPEZ Head Sabbir Ahmad, Channel Engagement Head AMM Fazlur Rashid and the organization's ProLinks Head Mohammad Tariqul Islam.
BAA K Award is considered as one of the most prestigious and recognized awards in the field of architecture in the country. Berger introduced the award in 2003 in collaboration with the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB).
Berger launched the 'Berger Young Architects' Award, later renamed the 'Berger Award for Excellence in Architecture (BAEA)' in 2007, to recognize the best work in architecture. This year marks the 10th edition of the BAA Awards, marking the 20th anniversary of the award, which is a historic and significant achievement in the field of architecture.
The Berger Award for Excellence in Architecture was started as an initiative to reward the 'Berger Architects' Award and the 'Berger Young Architects' Award – in two categories, including residential and non-residential categories. Last December, Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Architects Bangladesh to organize the award ceremony. Under this MoU, both institutions will work towards recognizing the best work of architects in the country.
To make the event more effective and successful, the IAB and Berger invited project submissions from all in the open category for the tenth edition of the Berger Award for Excellence in Architecture.

The Berger Award for Excellence in Architecture (BAA) has been introduced to recognize the merit and hard work of deserving architects.”
