The Dhaka Times Desk The 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited was held on digital platform recently. Chairman of Berger Paints Bangladesh Ltd. Gerald K. Adams presided over the meeting.
Anil Bhalla, Masood Khan, Parveen Mahmud, Rezaul Islam, Rishma Kaur, Kanwardeep Singh Dhingra, Sunil Sharma, Abhijit Roy, Jean Claude Lutrei and Sajjad Rahim Chowdhury were present in the meeting along with Managing Director Rupali Chowdhury.
Gerald K. Adams presented to the shareholders the Directors' Report, Audit Report and Audited Financial Statements for the financial year ended 31st March this year. Rupali Chowdhury answered the questions of the shareholders.
The meeting declared 400 percent cash dividend comprising 300 percent internal dividend and 100 percent final dividend for the financial year 2021-2022. The company's revenue growth at the end of March 31 last year was 31.80 percent and volume growth was around 19 percent.
In the financial year 2021-22, the company has gained market share. Given the revenue growth of 31.80 percent, the company earned a profit before tax of 10.07 percent. Income after tax was 17.40 percent of net sales in 2021-22 compared to 20.83 percent last year.
Cost of net sales increased from 60.21 percent to 65.59 percent during this period. This year, Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited won the recognition of 'Best Taxpayer' for the year 2019-2020 in the manufacturing category. Also, the company won the 'ICMAB Best Corporate Award 2020' in the Multinational Manufacturing Industries category for Sales and Financial Performance, Contribution to National Exchequer, Human Resource Development Management, Corporate Governance, Shareholder Returns, Investment Growth and CSR Activities. In addition, Berger has been recognized as the 'Best Paint Brand' in the paint category for 11 consecutive times at the Bangladesh Brand Forum (BBF) awards ceremony organized in partnership with Nielsen Bangladesh.
