The Dhaka Times Desk Imagine Ventures Youth Challenge Bootcamp 2022 Dhaka Division organized by UNICEF Bangladesh, Generation Unlimited, Jago Foundation Trust, Bangladesh Brand Forum, International Labor Organization (ILO) and Technovation Girls Bangladesh concluded.

It ended on October 1, 2022 at Hotel Bengal Blueberry in Dhaka. 6 bootcamps will be organized in 5 more divisions of Bangladesh throughout the month of October. In the first phase, the ideas of young people aged 15 to 24 years, who are interested in working on climate change solution projects, were discussed in the bootcamp after the online assessment of the Dhaka Division.
12 teams presented their projects in this 3-day bootcamp. They also discussed how to solve climate problems in their respective districts by implementing their projects. Trainers also train young participants to connect, overcome successes and failures, and develop technical skills. 5 winning teams from Dhaka Division received seed money to implement their projects. Similar procedure will be followed for more bootcamp winners from other categories. A total of 20 teams will receive seed money and will also be selected for the global challenge in 6 categories of Bangladesh.

One of the participants said, “Although it seems to be a Western problem, I realized from the first day I entered this bootcamp that climate change is a global problem and if we don't solve climate change in our region, no one else will. "
UNICEF Bangladesh Representative Sheldon Yate said, “It was an incredible experience to meet eleven climate champions in Dhaka today. Together they have developed meaningful solutions to mitigate the effects of climate change. Bangladesh is one of the climate vulnerable countries in the world. Despite being aware of climate change, few teenagers and young adults believe they can make a difference.
"With over 30% of the population, Bangladesh's youth must be put in the driving seat to ensure sustainable economic growth and development," said Mr. Tuomo Pautiainen, ILO Country Director in Bangladesh. In view of LDC graduation and emerging challenges such as the fourth industrial revolution and climate change, it is also imperative to prepare them for the future of work and create effective pathways for productive labor market participation. I am really happy to see that the Generation Unlimited program is working to enhance the entrepreneurial mindset and problem-solving skills of the youth through the Imagine Ventures Youth Challenge Bootcamp 2022, enabling them to define problems, think critically, and work in teams to create impactful business models. "
Karvi Raksand, Chairman of Jago Foundation Trust said, “Our future depends on how we tackle climate change today. As part of the Imagine Ventures Youth Challenge Bootcamp 2022, youth will be mobilized and supported to design climate-smart enterprise solutions to address the most pressing environmental challenges in their region. It will inspire them to think of ways to contribute to the world and the country.”
The Imagine Ventures Youth Challenge Bootcamp 2022 initiative will help youth catalyze social impact and create a more beautiful and sustainable future for humanity and the planet. It will encourage the youth to be change makers and make a positive impact in their society, country and even the world. News bulletins.
