Malala's strong call to stand by Iranian women

The Dhaka Times Desk Pakistan's Nobel laureate and education rights activist Malala Yousafzai has strongly called on the world community to stand by Iranian women.

Protests against the death of Kurdish woman Masha Amini in police custody in Iran, including the capital Tehran, are underway in various parts of the country. The women of the country have been protesting in the streets demanding a change in the regime of Iran. Security forces have taken a strict stand to counter the movement. So far more than half a hundred people have been killed in police firing. Thousands of people of the country have been arrested. In one of her messages on the issue, Malala praised Iranian women for their courage and initiative to bring change in the country. Addressing the Iranian girls and young women who took to the streets to demand freedom and security, Malala said, "You are changing the whole world by playing a brave role."
