Babuland's seminar discusses the importance of physical, mental and social development of children

The Dhaka Times Desk The harmful aspects of physical and mental stress created on children by the mechanics of modern urban life and how a healthy, stress-free childhood can positively affect a child - was highlighted in a seminar organized at Badda branch of Babuland yesterday (October 22).

Babuland, the country's largest indoor playground, serves about 40,000 children every month. Recently they organized a seminar, the main topic of which was the importance of proper physical, mental and social development of children today.

Important persons of the company from Babuland were present on the occasion. Also present were the company's investors, business partners and media personnel.

Children are supposed to grow little by little during this time in the freedom of green grass fields, plants and open air. But in the modern cities full of brick and wood buildings, such green fields and free air are now rare. This is currently the main obstacle to the proper physical, mental and social development of most of the children in the country. Discussants at a seminar organized by Babuland expressed their concern about this apparent problem, and urged everyone to find ways to overcome it.

Apart from the senior executives of Babuland, the seminar was also attended by institutional investors and stakeholders, vendors associated with Babuland and media persons.

Ishnad Chowdhury, co-founder of Babuland, said, "Dhaka city has only 294 acres of playgrounds where 1876 acres are required, which is only 16%. As a result 77% children are deprived of adequate physical exercise every day. Which can later lead to various heart diseases and even diabetes risk for them. Our initiative helps society to fill this gap through safe and healthy indoor playgrounds and impact the physical and mental development of the next generation.”

Currently, according to a survey by Bangladesh Institute of Planners (BIP), taking into account the population, there are 235 playgrounds in the area covered by the 2 City Corporations of Dhaka (of which 2,400 are required). Not only this, children nowadays are becoming addicted to mobiles and smartphones at an alarming rate due to the lack of play space, which is also affecting them psychologically.

The Babuland seminar ended with a wish for everyone to participate in building a better future.

It may be noted that Babuland, the country's largest indoor playground, started its journey in 2018 with the promise of providing some relief to young children and their parents in this mechanical city. But it is not only a place for children's sports, but every aspect of it is designed and managed in such a way that attention is paid to the mental, physical and social development of the children.

Enamul Haque, Co-Founder and Managing Director of the organization said, “We created Babuland Science to ensure service and proper care of children. Our branches are staffed with experienced “Happy Helpers” whose training we invest heavily in enhancing service. Along with this, regular super fun events, good habit building exercises, activity classes etc are also organized here.”

Currently, Babuland has 4 branches in the capital city of Badda, Mirpur, Uttara and Wari and recently Babuland received a fresh investment of Rs 40 million from an angel investor, which will help the company to expand their service quality across the country and accelerate Anand by launching its franchise model. https://www.babuland.com/ for detailed information.
