The first Arab woman swam from Saudi Arabia to Egypt!

The Dhaka Times Desk Maryam bin Laden, the first Arab woman, arrived in Egypt from Saudi Arabia by swimming in the Red Sea.

This female dentist crossed the ocean to join the Climate Summit (Cop-27)! This information was given in a report of the Saudi Arabian news media Al-Arabiya.

According to a report, he has taken this step mainly to raise awareness about the conservation of coral reefs, which are particularly vulnerable to climate change.

More than 20 threatened coral species have already been listed. Two species are also listed as threatened under the US Endangered Species Act.

The report also states that even if global warming is limited to 1.5 degrees Celsius, coral reefs will shrink by at least 70 percent. If the temperature rises by 2 degrees Celsius, almost all of the world's coral reefs could be lost by 2070.

Maryam Bin Laden previously swam to raise awareness about Syrian refugee children and their plight. In 2015, Maryam bin Laden became the first Arab woman to swim the 4.5 km Hellespont in Turkey.
