From now on users must be at least 18 years of age to avail the live feature. The announcement was made by the Chinese video platform last Monday. TikTok said that such changes are being made to ensure the safety of users.
TikTok said in a blog post that the new rule of age limit will be effective from next month i.e. November 23. However, even if under 18s cannot make videos, they will have the opportunity to watch others' videos.
Video creators can also age their viewers if they want. That's why only viewers of a certain age will get a chance to watch that video. From now on users can have up to 5 guests live together if they want.
On the other hand, TikTok has made the age limit 16 in the case of 'direct message' or direct messaging. No one under this age can direct message. On the other hand, virtual gifts can be sent only if you are 18 years old.
