Today (November 13) is the 74th birthday of this talented lyricist. He was born on this day in 1948 at Daulatpur village of Mohanganj in Netrokona at his paternal home.
The sorcerer of words, Humayun Ahmed was a playwright, film director, poet and lyricist. He was everywhere in literature. Sometimes he painted the colorless white space of the canvas with a touch of paint.
He was not behind in construction. His various creations on small screen and big screen will remain etched in the minds of Bengalis for thousands of years.
Wrote more than two hundred novels including 'Nandit Narake' and 'Shankhanil Prison', 'Jochna and Janani's story', 'Badsha Namdar'. The impeccable characters like 'Himu', 'Shuvra', 'Missir Ali' written by him still touch people's hearts.
His dramas like 'Bahubrihi', 'Eisab Dinratri', 'Kothao Kew Nei' produced by him on BTV in the eighties are still popular among the present generation. He received National Film Award for 'Shravan Megher Din', 'Aguner Parashmani', 'Shyamal Chhaya', lastly 'Ghetuputra Kamala'.
This unrivaled writer of Bangladeshi literature was awarded with various awards like Ekushey Padak, Bangla Academy Literary Award, National Film Award. Humayun Ahmed did not like pomp on his birthday. However, in his absence yesterday (November 12) Bangla Academy was given the 'Another Day Humayun Literary Award 2022'.
Today (Sunday) Channel I has organized various activities to remember Humayun Ahmed throughout the day. 'Aikya.com.bd Humayun Mela' will be held at Channel I premises from 11 am.
It should be noted that on July 19, 2012, this great craftsman died while undergoing treatment in New York.
