The Dhaka Times Desk After the inauguration yesterday (Wednesday), the general passenger transport of the country's first metro rail has started today. On the first day, 3857 passengers traveled in it and became a witness in the history of the country.
According to Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) sources, the train was scheduled to run from 8 am today Thursday (December 29), but the passengers were standing in line since early morning. Some of these passengers were office goers, some had come with their families to witness the history of the country by riding the Metrorail for the first time. Many aimed only to ride the Metrorail. However, since the morning, there were many complaints from the passengers that the authorities are working slowly to enter the passengers at the station. However, authorities said it has been slow to maintain order and acclimatize passengers to the whole system. They will be fixed in time.
In spite of this, the Metrorail did not run after 12 noon as previously announced. Due to which thousands of people have to leave the station without fulfilling their desire to travel on Metrorail.
But all those who ride the metro rail are very happy. Many have expressed that they feel blessed to witness history. Moreover, many people are happy to get BRTC bus from metro rail.
It should be noted that yesterday (Wednesday) December 28, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the country's first electric train Metrorail. He took a train from Uttara Uttara station with 200 tour companions and reached Agaogaon station.
