The Dhaka Times Desk The National Board of Revenue (NBR) this year also announced MetLife Bangladesh as one of the top tax paying companies for the tax year 2021-2022.
With this, MetLife has achieved this prestigious recognition for the 12th year. MetLife Bangladesh is the only insurance company that has received this top tax payer recognition.
MetLife Bangladesh was given this recognition in “Other Category (Company)” for contributing more than Tk 281 crore as tax to the country's economy.
Deputy Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer, Ala Uddin accepted the award on behalf of MetLife Bangladesh.
Hon'ble Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, Senior Secretary, Finance Department Senior Secretary Fatima Yasmin and Senior Secretary, Internal Resources Department and NBR Chairman Abu Hena Md. were present in the recognition ceremony of top taxpayers. Rahmatul Munim.
