Although it is surprising to hear the matter, this has happened according to a report of Sky News.
According to the report, the incident happened near the city of Queda Springs in the state of Kansas, USA. Police said the deceased was in his 30s. However, the police have not revealed his identity yet. The incident happened in a pickup van. Equipment found in the back of the vehicle indicates that it was, in fact, a poaching incident.
The deceased was sitting in the passenger seat next to the pickup driver. In the back of the pickup were loaded rifles and dogs. Suddenly, for some reason, the dog's leg fell on the trigger of the rifle. This is how the accident happened. The bullet came out and pierced the young man's back.
Wellington Fire Chief Tim Hay said the man in the driver's seat was uninjured. The Sumner County Sheriff's Office said in a statement to local media that the dog's paws caused the rifle to discharge.
A statement added that the youth, who was in the passenger seat, was shot from behind. Emergency services were called to save the young man. All efforts were made to save him but all efforts failed.
The county sheriff's office said further investigations are underway following the incident. Nothing is initially known about the real owner of the car and the dog.
