The Dhaka Times Desk In this age, there is hardly a person who has not heard the word 'Internet'. Internet is involved in all activities of our daily life. However, despite using the Internet constantly, we do not know the history of how the Internet was discovered.
What is the Internet?
Basically, the Internet is a network connecting countless computers and devices in different parts of the world. That is, the Internet is a collection of many interconnected computers and device networks spread throughout the world. The Internet is a networking system open to all types of public.
This is how the internet works
The Internet is a means of exchanging various types of data and media between interconnected devices worldwide. The Internet operates using packet routing networks, which are connected via Internet Protocol (IP) and Transport Control Protocol (TCP). TCP and IP simultaneously ensure that the Internet can be accessed seamlessly from any device anywhere in the world.
How did the internet come about?
The Internet is a technology that was not actually invented by a single person. It was not discovered overnight, but the result of the tireless efforts of various scientists, engineers and researchers over a long period of time has brought the Internet to its current state.
Technologies like the Internet were originally created to be used as weapons. The world's first satellite was discovered by the Soviet Union on October 4, 1957, during the global Cold War after World War II; Which was named Sputnik. This discovery greatly simplified the Soviet Union's communications system, which the US Department of Defense also considered a threat to itself. Because of this, they began researching to develop a technology that would enable them to secretly exchange information among themselves and counter Soviet aggression. From such a thought, they focused on improving rocket and computer technology. At one time they also felt the need to secretly transmit information from one place to another.
America's Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency was able to transmit information from one computer to another; And this information transmission network was named ARPA network or ARPANET. In 1969, the first message was sent from one computer to another through this ARPANET. Also in 1969, three military contactors came together to create the interface message processor or IMP, the basic structure of the routing device, which revolutionized the data transmission process.
Then came the legendary Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) in the 1970s by Vint Cerf; Which is better known as Internet Protocol (IP). Through this IP or Internet Protocol, it was possible to include many computers under ARPANET. Then in the eighties, due to the invention of domains, the number of websites started to increase and the Surf protocol was transformed into the Internet through the World Wide Network.
At this time, it was possible to bring all the computers of the world to the same network and the use of the Internet started to increase very quickly. This is because connecting to other computers using only IP or Internet Protocol addresses was difficult, because IP addresses are made up of complex numbers; But when the domain is discovered, it becomes much easier to remember and access the site.
Then, in 1991, the internet world changed again. During this time, Tim Berners-Lee, a Swiss computer programmer, invented the World Wide Web. For this reason, Tim Berners-Lee is called the father of the World Wide Web. About the year 1993. Then the National Center for Emerging Applications (NCSA) developed the Mosaic web browser. This browser was the first to display images and text on the same page. Since then, Internet technology has spread commercially worldwide. This is how internet technology is able to reach its current position through the continuous connection of different things with ARPANET. Currently, the whole world is not moving without this internet. Everything in the world including financial transactions happens on this internet. All the people of the world are now using this internet and getting its benefits. Source – Ekushey Television.
Things to do to prevent Corona virus
# try to stay at home all the time.
# Follow the rules and use mask when going out for emergency.
# three-layer cloth mask can be washed if desired.
# wash clothes after coming home from outside. Or hang it without shaking for at least four hours.
# Wash hands thoroughly (for at least 20 seconds) with soap or liquid before coming outside.
# plastic PPE or eyes, face, head must be washed thoroughly with detergent and dried after one use.
# Wear PPE made of cloth or clean as described.
# Use a head cap that completely covers the hair.
# Those who have sneeze cough should follow all the rules promulgated by the government. Also, wash hands as directed before and after handling food items, keys, switches, mice, remote controls, mobiles, watches, computer desks, TVs, etc. and after using the bathroom. Those who have dry hands use Moisture after washing their hands. Soap or hand liquid can be used. Why can this virus remain in the crackle (cracked part) of dry hands? Avoid using highly alkaline soaps or detergents.
