The ultimatum of the exhibition hall closure

Hindi film 'Pathan' was released on 24th February and 3rd March, but ultimately it was not allowed to be released in the country. The Cinema Hall Owners Association is disappointed by this. Forced, the organization held a press conference in Iskaton yesterday (March 4) and gave an ultimatum to close the cinema hall!

In the press conference, they said that they will close cinema halls if they do not allow the release of 10 Hindi films a year.

Awlad Hossain Ujjal, Secretary of the Cinema Hall Owners' Association, said that despite getting a green signal from the ministry, written permission to bring Hindi films was not received.

He also said, except for 'Hawa' and 'Paran', last year no movie did that kind of business in theatres. If this continues, you will see that one after another the cinema halls will be completely closed.

It was also informed that due to technical reasons, no specific date has been finalized for the closure of the hall. But any day all the single screens will be closed one by one.

Mirza Abdul Khalek, the owner of Lion Cinemas in Keraniganj, said in a press conference that last year we screened a total of 40 films. Out of which only 'Hawa' and 'Paran' did well.

He also said, on Friday, a government-sponsored film was also screened. Only 12 people have seen the picture. In this situation it is not possible to keep our hall open. If Hindi films do not come, we will have no option but to close our halls.

Sudipta Kumar Das, Chief Advisor of the Hall Owners' Association expressed his anger at the indecision of the government and said, "In such a situation, I can't find any real reason to keep the cinema hall open, so I think it is better to close it."

In the press conference, the senior vice-president of the Film Exhibitors Association, Mia Alauddin, joint general secretary. Khurshid Alam, Culture, Social Welfare and Legal Affairs Secretary RM Yunus Rubel were present on this occasion.
