The Dhaka Times Desk North Korea has said it would consider any attempt to shoot down one of its test missiles a 'declaration of war'.
Pyongyang blames joint military exercises between the US and South Korea for the escalation of tensions on the Korean peninsula. This information was given by Reuters citing the country's state-owned media KCNA.
Kim Yo-jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, warned in a statement that any US military action against North Korea's strategic weapons tests would be viewed by Pyongyang as a declaration of war.
He also hinted that North Korea may conduct more missile tests in the Pacific Ocean. The US and its allies have never shot down a North Korean ballistic missile. The UN Security Council has banned these missiles.
But new investigations have been launched since North Korea also indicated it may launch more missiles over Japan. After North Korea threatened to turn the Pacific Ocean into a 'firing range', Kim Yoo said, 'The Pacific Ocean is not the property of the United States or Japan.'
Analysts say that if North Korea turns the Pacific into a 'firing range' as it has threatened, it will pave the way for technological progress as well as military determination for nuclear-armed disengagement.
In a separate statement, the head of North Korea's foreign ministry's foreign press department accused the United States of "inflaming" the situation by conducting joint exercises with B-52 bombers on Monday and planning US-South Korea military drills.
