The Dhaka Times Desk An 85-year-old man in India's Uttar Pradesh has written off his property worth around Rs 2 crore to the government instead of giving it to his children.
Not only that, the old man named Nathu Singh, who was 'burdened' to his children, bequeathed his dead body to a medical college saying that none of his sons and 4 daughters should attend his funeral.
NDTV reports that Nathu Singh, a resident of Muzaffarnagar, owns a homestead and land worth around Rs 2 crore. He has a son who is a school teacher. He also has 4 daughters, all of whom are married.
After the death of his wife, the old man lived alone. About 7 months ago he moved to an old age home in his village.
An 85-year-old man was left heartbroken when none of his children came to see him. He bequeathed his property to the government and asked to build a hospital or a school there after his death.
"At this old age, where I could have stayed with my children and daughter-in-law, no one took me in," he told The Times of India. So I have decided to give my property to the government.
The will also states that he donated his body for use in research and academic work. Despite such incident, however, his family members have not yet come forward.
Rekha Singh, director of the old age home, said that the old man started living there about 6 months ago. Since then no one has come to see him. The old man was very upset with his children and wanted to give his property to the state government.
The Times of India reported that the sub-registrar of the area said that they have received Nathu Singh's affidavit and it will be effective only after his death.
