The Dhaka Times Desk Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina handed over the National Film Award-2021 to the winners as the highest recognition for their special contribution to the film industry.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina handed over the award to the winners in a ceremony organized at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital on Thursday (March 9) afternoon.
Information and Broadcasting Minister presided over the National Film Award-2021 ceremony organized at Bangabandhu International Conference Center. Hasan Mahmud. Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Jasad) President and former Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu was the special guest on the occasion. The program was presented by two popular stars of Dhakai films Ferdous Ahmed and Nusrat Faria.
A total of 34 awards have been given in 27 categories from the selected films of 2021 for making special contributions to the film industry. This time, actress Dolly Zahoor and actor Ilyas Kanchan jointly received the lifetime award for their significant contribution to films.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting formed a 13-member jury board on August 16 last year to award the National Film Awards-2021. A total of 45 films including 21 full-length, 17 short-length and 7 documentary films released in 2021 were submitted for the National Film Awards.
