The Dhaka Times Desk Huawei, the leading ICT infrastructure service provider, will soon establish Chuet's sixth ICT Academy with the aim of creating opportunities for students to develop their talents and acquire information technology knowledge.
For this purpose yesterday (March 28) a memorandum of understanding signing ceremony was organized at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CHUTE) campus. The Vice-Chancellor of Chuet was present as the chief guest. Mohammad Rafiqul Alam. Zhang Cheng (Justin), director of its South Asia Enterprise Partner Development and Management Department on behalf of Huawei; Nazia Samantha Islam, Corporate Affairs Manager, South Asia Public Relations Department; And its registrar from Chuet Prof. Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Humayun Kabir; Dean of Electrical and Computer Engineering Faculty Dr. Mohammad Moshiul Haque and Director of Planning and Development Professor Dr. Kazi Delwar Hossain and other faculty members were present in this event.
In the first phase, CUET faculty members will be imparted necessary training through this ICT Academy to become certified instructors. Later these faculty members will provide training to the students.
Chuet Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Alam said, “We are delighted to collaborate with Huawei South Asia to establish an ICT Academy on our campus. In today's context industry-academia collaboration is crucial to create the right skilled manpower to keep pace with the evolving world. I hope that this academy will play an important role in preparing our students for the future world.”

Note that Huawei launched ICT Academy as a global industry-academia cooperation project from 2013. Currently, 1500 ICT academies are operating under the management of Huawei in more than 90 countries around the world, including the UK, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. A total of 927 college and university students are involved with this initiative. Moreover, thousands of students around the world are benefiting from this initiative.
