Bangladesh import producer Ananya Mamun said that these two movies will be released in the period between the next two Eids.
The condition for import is that the legitimate film producers and distributors of Bangladesh will have the opportunity to import any film made in subcontinental languages. On an experimental basis, films made in sub-continental languages will be allowed to import against export for two years with Bengali subtitles. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has also given conditional approval for the release of films in subcontinental languages (Hindi and others) in the theaters of the country.
Due to which the complications that were going on for the past few months with other Hindi films including 'Pathan' have come to an end. But the condition is that in the first year to bring 10 sub-continental movies to the country, an equal number of Bangladeshi movies have to be exported. Bangladesh Film Censor Board's permission must also be obtained before showing the hall. Also some other conditions have been placed in the case of movie import. A notification was also issued in this regard.
It is mentioned therein that the opinion of the Ministry of Commerce was sought in view of the application of the Combined Film Council regarding the import of films made in sub-continental languages. On the basis of the positive opinion of the Ministry of Commerce, in compliance with the conditions of sub-section 25 (36) (c) of the existing Import Policy Order 2021-2024, against the export of Bangladeshi films, permission has been given on an experimental basis to import films made in subcontinental languages from SAFTA countries subject to the following conditions.
In the first year Bangladesh can import an equal number of films (i.e. 10) against the export of 10 Bangladeshi films. The permission of Bangladesh Film Censor Board must be obtained before showing imported subcontinental language films. Under this order, imported films cannot be screened in Bangladesh during the week of Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Azha and Durga Puja.
There was a fresh demand to screen Hindi cinemas after the release of the movie 'Pathan' on 25th January. At that time the (theatre) owners wanted to screen it in early February.
