Cricket Asia Cup next year in Bangladesh again!

The Dhaka Times Desk After the 2012 Asia Cup, the 2014 Asia Cup will be held in Bangladesh again. The entire tournament is scheduled to be held from February 24 to March 7 next year.

The Asian Cricket Council members held a meeting with the Indian Cricket Board chief Sri Nivasan in Chennai regarding the venue and schedule of the games. The meeting was presented by Nishant Ranatunga, Secretary of the Lankan Board and Subhan Ahmed, Chief Operating Officer of the Pak Board.

তবে জানুয়ারীর ১৯ থেকে ফেব্রুয়ারীর ১৮ তারিখ পর্যন্ত ভারতের নিউজিল্যাণ্ড সফর করার কথা রয়েছে। প্রায় একই সময়ে ভারতের নিউজিল্যাণ্ড সফর থাকায় কিছুটা সংশয় থেকেই যাচ্ছে। কিন্তু অফিসিয়ালি বলে হয়েছে যে, “ভারত আমাদের নিশ্চিত করেছে তারা এশিয়া কাপ খেলতে ইচ্ছুক। এজন্যে প্রয়োজন হলে নিউজিল্যাণ্ড সফর সংক্ষিপ্ত করার চেষ্টা চালাবে।”

Meanwhile, there is still some confusion about Nimbus' promotional assets as there was some delay in paying the full amount of Nimbus last time. But the members of the Asian Cricket Council said that this time they will give bank guarantee money to Nimbus in advance, so Nimbus will have no chance to return their proposal.

The original host of the tournament was India, but due to the pressure of international cricket schedule, India expressed its inability to host the tournament. As a result, Bangladesh gets the status of the host again as an alternative. This time Asia Cup matches can be held at Fatulla Stadium in Dhaka, Chittagong and Narayanganj in Bangladesh.
