How India's spacecraft Chandrayaan-3 reached the unknown part of the moon

The Dhaka Times Desk October 22, 2008. On that day, India's spacecraft Chandrayaan-1 started its journey towards the moon. Yesterday Wednesday (August 23, 2023), another Indian spacecraft Chandrayaan-3 made history by touching the soil of the unknown south pole surrounded by the mystery of the moon.

India's Space Research Organization - ISRO conducted this mission to show its readiness to send spacecraft beyond Earth's orbit.

Chandrayaan-1 sent many unknown information about the moon to the world. This Indian spacecraft made history by first discovering the existence of water on the moon. Almost 15 years have passed since then.

Yesterday Wednesday (August 23, 2023), another Indian spacecraft Chandrayaan-3 made history by touching the soil of the unknown south pole surrounded by the mystery of the moon. India's milestone comes nearly 4 years after Chandrayaan-2 crashed during its landing attempt.

ISRO scientists landed Chandrayaan-3's lander Vikram on the moon's surface on Wednesday through a tricky dance of gravity and motion. Vikram started the final descent process around 5.45 pm Indian local time from about 25 km above its destination. Then at 6.04 pm local time, India's spacecraft Chandrayaan-3 made history by touching the untouched surface of the moon's south pole.

India's spacecraft Chandrayaan-3 orbited the moon for more than 15 days after entering lunar orbit on August 5. Vikram was on its way to final landing after completing the 400,000 km long journey between Earth and its destination.

This spacecraft, which was launched from Sriharikota, India on July 14, has traveled a long way in its journey. Because Chandrayaan-3 was running through the empty chest of space by gaining extra speed by using the Earth's gravity.

This mission of India's spacecraft Chandrayaan-3 was surrounded by an unknown challenge. The Indian spacecraft landed in a region of the moon, which was untouched and unexplored until now. India made history by becoming the first country in the world to land a spacecraft on the south pole of the moon.

The lander Bikram touched down in the south polar region of the Moon, where daytime temperatures are above 50 degrees Celsius and minus 200 degrees Celsius at night. This side of the moon was unknown until now. India is the first country in the world to land a spacecraft on the South Pole of the Moon. It is the fourth in terms of overall campaigns. The United States, Russia and China had sent spacecraft to the moon before India.

Landing Chandrayaan-3 in an interplanetary position was originally extremely challenging, with the uneven elevation of the Moon's southern edge, thousands of deep craters, and hundreds of obstacles rising from the ground. Just days before India's Chandrayaan-3 attempted to land, Russia lost its Luna-25 spacecraft. Vikram landed about 120 to 150 km away from the same region.

The issue of spending money on the lunar mission

The cost of sending India's spacecraft Chandrayaan-3 to the moon was 6.1 billion rupees (i.e. 75 million dollars). Bangladeshi will be about 820 crore 80 lakh 7 thousand 500 taka. On the other hand, it is less than half of the money ($200 million) spent on the Russian spacecraft Luna-25, which crashed on the surface of the moon last Sunday.

According to Indian media reports, India's previous Moon and Mars missions were also run at low cost. Indians have also credited the efforts of the country's space research agency ISRO to prevent wastage of money.

Explaining why India's Mars mission cost less than the US, British space scientist Professor Andrew Coates told the BBC that India had limited the payload of the Mars probe to 15 kg, making the successful mission relatively 'small'.

Senior ISRO scientists told BBC Tamil that India's launch costs could be lower now. The reason is that a new spaceport is planned to be built at Kulasekarapattinam in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. An ideal launch port for such operations would also reduce transportation costs.

How to prevent dengue

Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral fever. This fever is different from other viral or bacterial fevers. However, this fever is not contagious in any way. This viral fever can occur alone or in combination with other viruses (chikungunya, yellow fever, Burma forest, flu, respiratory syncytial) and bacteria (pneumococcus).

Dengue fever is divided into two categories depending on the severity of symptoms and fever.

1. Common dengue fever

2. Dengue fever with bleeding.

In the case of common dengue fever, the following symptoms are mainly seen-

1. Sudden high fever lasting 2 to 7 days.

2. Severe headache.

3. Pain behind the eyes.

4. Along with the fever, red rash appears all over the body.

5. Severe pain in whole body as well as back pain.

6. Nausea or vomiting.

7. A rash or red bumps on the skin.

In case of dengue fever with bleeding:

1. Bleeding from nose, mouth or vomiting with high fever within 2 to 48 hours.

2. Fluid accumulation in chest or abdomen along with fever.

If any of these symptoms appear, seek medical attention immediately.

On the other hand

Wait at home for the first 3 days of fever. On the other hand, sponge the whole body with water every now and then. This will reduce the level of fever. Drink enough water and rest. After that, if the fever does not decrease or if it continues to increase after some time, consult a doctor immediately.

Things to do to prevent Dengue:

1. Try to keep the surroundings of the house as clean as possible.

2. If there are flower tubs or broken plastic bottles, can shells, tires or polythene inside the house, clean them quickly and drain the accumulated water from the flower tubs.

3. Spray or fog at least 3 times a week to kill mosquitoes.

4. You can keep mosquito repellent cream with you while going out.

5. After evening, younger and older members of the household should use mosquito nets.

6. Clean up any accumulated rain water, as this is the time when Aedes mosquitoes lay their eggs.

7. On the other hand, you can use mats along with mosquito nets to avoid mosquito infestation.

8. Since Aedes mosquitoes bite during the day, it is important to avoid sleeping with mosquito nets while sleeping during the day. Source: https://dmpnews.org
