Terry Fox Run organized by NHCS in the country to raise funds for cancer research

The Dhaka Times Desk New Horizon Canadian International School (NHCS) has organized “Terry Fox Run” for the first time in Bangladesh. The Terry Fox Run is primarily a charity run organized to raise awareness and research for cancer worldwide.

It aims to commemorate Terry Fox's historic efforts to raise cancer awareness and instill a spirit of similar unrelenting efforts in future generations.

Canada's unique national hero, Terry Fox, was himself diagnosed with cancer. With the goal of financial support for cancer prevention research, he took the initiative to collect funds, and started the journey to run from one end of Canada to the other end in a historic event called "Marathon of Hope". His goal was to collect $1 from every Canadian citizen to fund cancer research. Tragically, Terry Fox died before the race was finished; But through this effort he made history.

The charity run was held from NHCS school premises to Dilu Road in New Eskaton area.
