The security forces also conducted an operation yesterday evening to clear the shopping mall of militants.
Citing eyewitness sources, the news media reported that immediately after the explosion, a massive exchange of fire started between the two sides. The shooting lasted for about 20 minutes. At least 175 others were injured in the terrorist attack. At least 1,000 people have been safely evacuated by the army. US, Canadian, British, French and Indian nationals were also reported among the casualties.
It is to be noted that on September 21, militants suddenly attacked the shopping mall. At that time 68 people were killed in the attack of the militants. During this time many more people were injured. People started running in different directions due to the ambush.
