The Dhaka Times Desk Scientists found a giant head, multi-colored eyes of a type of shark or shark deep in the Andaman Sea off the coast of Thailand!
It is also called the 'ghost shark' due to its somewhat ghostly appearance. Its fins, like the feathers of a bird, are quite different from those of a normal fish. Its head is more than 32 percent of its body length.
Scientists consider this elusive deep-sea creature to be the oldest fish alive today. In the Chimeriformes order, the 'ghost shark' is a cartilaginous fish, that is, its body is also equipped with bones like a skeleton. These ancient fish are called sharks or their distant relatives.
Scientists announced this discovery in a research paper published in the Raffles Bulletin of Zoology on March 6. David Ebert, program director of the Pacific Shark Research Center at California San Jose State University, lead author of the study, said, 'Chimera species are rare in the world today.' According to Greek mythology, the Chimera was a monstrous fire-breathing hybrid creature from the region of Lycia in Asia Minor, composed of various animal parts.
Chimeras also inhabit deep-sea continental shelves and oceanic ridges. They are usually found at a depth of 1,640 feet under water. These ghostly fish hide in dark water. They feed on crustaceans, molluscs and worms.
Ghost sharks are hard to find as they live in the deep sea - especially in the Andaman Sea. In some areas, the depth exceeds 14,000 feet. Chimeras also have large multicolored reflective eyes. Some species can grow up to 6.6 feet (2 m) tall.
Earlier in 2018, a dead immature male specimen was discovered as part of a deep-sea survey project. Scientists collected it from 2,533 to 2,543 feet below the surface in the Andaman Sea. Researchers also recognized it as a new species.
David Ebert, lead author of the study, said that evolutionarily these chimeras are one of the oldest lineages of fish. Their lineage is 300 to 400 million years ago. How to prevent dengue
Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral fever. This fever is different from other viral or bacterial fevers. However, this fever is not contagious in any way. 6. Nausea or vomiting.
7. A rash or red bumps on the skin.
In case of dengue fever with bleeding:
1. Bleeding from nose, mouth or vomiting with high fever within 2 to 48 hours.
2. Fluid accumulation in chest or abdomen along with fever.
If any of these symptoms appear, seek medical attention immediately.
On the other hand
Wait at home for the first 3 days of fever. On the other hand, sponge the whole body with water every now and then. This will reduce the level of fever. Drink enough water and rest. After that, if the fever does not decrease or if it continues to increase after some time, consult a doctor immediately.
Things to do to prevent Dengue:
1. Try to keep the surroundings of the house as clean as possible.
2. If there are flower tubs or broken plastic bottles, can shells, tires or polythene inside the house, clean them quickly and drain the accumulated water from the flower tubs.
3. Spray or fog at least 3 times a week to kill mosquitoes.
4. You can keep mosquito repellent cream with you while going out.
5. After evening, younger and older members of the household should use mosquito nets.
6. Clean up any accumulated rain water, as this is the time when Aedes mosquitoes lay their eggs.
7. On the other hand, you can use mats along with mosquito nets to avoid mosquito infestation.
