The Dhaka Times Desk At least 9 pilgrims died after a bus caught fire on the expressway in the state of Haryana, India. The incident took place on the state's Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway on Saturday midnight. At that time, these pilgrims were returning from a pilgrimage to Mathura and Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh.
Local officials said the bus was carrying at least 60 people from the same family, including women and children. They all hail from Punjab. The bus carrying them caught fire when it reached Nuh area in Haryana. Surviving passengers of the bus reported that they smelled smoke near the back of the bus around 1:30 am. - News of NDTV.
A motorcyclist saw the fire behind the bus and followed the bus. Later, he went in front of the bus driver and after warning him, the driver stopped the bus.
A surviving passenger said, 'We hired that bus for 10 days for pilgrimage to holy places. We left for home on Friday night. I smell smoke while sleeping at night. After warning the motorcyclist, the driver stopped the bus at one stage.'
The bus caught fire immediately after stopping. The locals informed the police and tried to douse the fire and rescue the people. The fire was extinguished after the firemen arrived. The injured were admitted to a nearby hospital. Locals alleged that fire officials reached the spot 3 hours after the bus was completely burnt.
A local resident told Indian media NDTV, 'We went behind the bus and broke the windows and got many people out, but by then the fire became very intense. We informed the police, but they came too late.'
Police have started an investigation to find out the cause of the fire.

How to prevent dengue
Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral fever. This fever is different from other viral or bacterial fevers. However, this fever is not contagious in any way. 1. Bleeding from nose, mouth or vomiting with high fever within 2 to 48 hours.
2. Fluid accumulation in chest or abdomen along with fever.
If any of these symptoms appear, seek medical attention immediately.

Wait at home for the first 3 days of fever. On the other hand, sponge the whole body with water every now and then. This will reduce the level of fever. Drink enough water and rest. After that, if the fever does not decrease or if it continues to increase after some time, consult a doctor immediately.
Things to do to prevent Dengue:
1. Try to keep the surroundings of the house as clean as possible.
2. If there are flower tubs or broken plastic bottles, can shells, tires or polythene inside the house, clean them quickly and drain the accumulated water from the flower tubs.
3. Spray or fog at least 3 times a week to kill mosquitoes.
4. You can keep mosquito repellent cream with you while going out.
5. After evening, younger and older members of the household should use mosquito nets.
6. Clean up any accumulated rain water, as this is the time when Aedes mosquitoes lay their eggs.
7. On the other hand, you can use mats along with mosquito nets to avoid mosquito infestation.
