The Dhaka Times Desk Bangladesh Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism has declared seven tourist spots in Bandarban as protected. From now on, public entry is prohibited in the said places. The reason is that this initiative has been taken to make these areas environment-friendly for animals.
According to government instructions, 272 acres of seven places have been fenced with barbed wire. Bandarban Forest Division Deputy Officer Shamim Hossain said, “We are making efforts to make these places environment-friendly, we hope to be successful. For the time being no one can travel to these places, even if the visitors or travelers are temporarily disappointed, we hope they will understand the importance of this."
The seven places are: Meghla Tourist Complex, Tanhik Lake, Miringa Tourist Complex, Golden Temple, Rock Falls, Chimbuk Hill and parts of Nilachal. But hopefully the Nilgiris are not covered by this ban, so tourists are not deprived of the beauty of the Nilgiris.
