Dhaka Times Desk আশুলিয়ায় আবারও শ্রমিক অসন্তোষ দেখা দিয়েছে। বিগত সময় দেখা গেছে, এই একই এলাকায় এবং সেই একই গার্মেন্টস এ হামলার ঘটনা ঘটতে। এবারও তাই ঘটেছে। একটি মহল আমাদের পোশাক সেক্টরে অরাজকতা সৃষ্টি করে ফায়দা লোটার চেষ্টা করে আসছে। কারণ এই পোশাক শিল্প আমাদের দেশের বৈদেশিক মুদ্রা অর্জনের একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মাধ্যম।
আশুলিয়ায় শ্রমিক গুমের গুজবের জের ধরে ১২ মে শ্রমিক-পুলিশ সংঘর্ষের পর ১৩ মে সকালে আশুলিয়ায় আবার অশান্ত হয়ে ওঠে শ্রমিকরা। তবে দুপুর পৌনে ১২টার দিকে পরিস্থিতি কিছুটা শান্ত হয়ে আসে বলে জানা গেছে। আবদুল্লাহপুর-বাইপাইল সড়কে সীমিত আকারে যানবাহন চলাচল শুরু হয়েছে। তবে আশুলিয়ার বিভিন্ন পয়েন্টে পয়েন্টে বিপুলসংখ্যক পুলিশসহ ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল পুলিশ, আর্মড পুলিশ ও র্যাব সদস্যরা অবস্থান নিয়েছেন। জলকামান নিয়ে টহল দিচ্ছে পুলিশ।
উল্লেখ্য, হামিম গ্রুপের শ্রমিক সালমান গুমের গুজবে ১২ মে ঘটনার জের ধরে ১৩ মে সকাল থেকে নতুন করে বিক্ষুব্ধ হয়ে ওঠা শ্রমিকদের ছত্রভঙ্গ করতে পুলিশ ফাঁকা গুলি, জলকামান, টিয়ার শেল ব্যবহার করে। এ ঘটনায় পুলিশসহ প্রায় শতাধিক আহত হয়েছে বলে জানা গেছে। শ্রমিকদের দাবি, সালমানকে তারা চাক্ষুষ দেখতে চায়। পুলিশ জানিয়েছে, সালমান হামিম গ্রুপের কারখানায় বহাল তবিয়তে আছে। সালমানকে এনে শ্রমিকদের সামনে হাজির করা হয়। সালমান নিজেকে সুস্থ ও কর্মরত বলে জানায়। এই দৃশ্য গতকাল ১৩ মে টিভি চ্যানেলগুলোতেও দেখানো হয়। কিন্তু শ্রমিকরা তা বিশ্বাস করেনি। তারা বলেন, এই শ্রমিক সেই শ্রমিক না। এদিকে প্রত্যক্ষদর্শীরা প্রতিবেদকদের জানান, ১৩ মে সকাল ৮টার মধ্যে শিল্পাঞ্চলের জিরাবো, নরসিংহপুর, বাংলাবাজার ও জামগরা এলাকার কারখানায় শ্রমিকরা কাজে যোগ দিতে আসে। কিন্তু কারখানা বন্ধ থাকায় সাড়ে ৮টার দিকে শ্রমিকরা উত্তেজিত হয়ে ওঠে। আশুলিয়ার নরসিংহপুরে হামিম গ্রুপের প্রতিষ্ঠান আর্টিস্টিক ডিজাইন লিমিটেডে উত্তেজনা দেখা দেয়। এরপর বিভিন্ন কারখানা থেকে শ্রমিকরা দলে দলে রাস্তায় বের হয়ে আসে। এক পর্যায়ে পুলিশের সঙ্গে তাদের ধাওয়া-পাল্টাধাওয়া শুরু হয়। বিক্ষুব্ধ শ্রমিকরা এ সময় অন্তত ২৫টি গাড়ি ভাংচুর করে। এ অবস্থায় আশুলিয়া শিল্প এলাকার সবগুলো কারখানায় ছুটি ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে।
আবদুল্লাহপুর-বাইপাইল সড়কে যানবাহন চলাচল বন্ধ হয়ে যায় সকাল সাড়ে ৮টায়। তবে দুপুর পৌনে ১২টায় যান চলাচল স্বাভাবিক হতে শুরু করেছে। জামগরা এলাকায় সকাল সাড়ে ১০টার দিকে দেখা গেছে, পুলিশ মূল সড়কে অবস্থান নিয়ে শ্রমিকদের পাশের গলিপথে চলে যেতে বাধ্য করছে। ফের শ্রমিকরা জোটবদ্ধ হয়ে রাস্তায় বেরিয়ে পুলিশকে ধাওয়া করে। এদিকে একটি সূত্র জানায়, সকালে এফবিসিসিআই সভাপতি হামিম গ্রুপের কর্ণধার একে আজাদ আর্টিস্টিক ডিজাইন লিমিটেডে শ্রমিকদের সঙ্গে কথা বলতে এলে শ্রমিকরা তাকে লাঞ্ছিত করে। সূত্র জানায়, তিনি হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসাধীন রয়েছেন। তবে আর্টিস্টিক ডিজাইনের এক্সিউটিভ ডিরেক্টর মোঃ আলী বলেন, ‘খবরটি মিথ্যা। আজাদ সাহেব সুস্থ আছেন। তার ওপর হামলা হয়নি। আমাদের ফ্যাক্টরি বন্ধ রয়েছে। আজ যে সমস্যা হচ্ছে তা জামগড়ায়।’ তবে সূত্র মতে, শ্রমিকদের হামলায় একে আজাদ মাথায় আঘাত পেয়েছেন। শিল্প পুলিশের মহাপরিচালক আবদুস সালাম পিপিএম বলেন, একে আজাদ সাহেব সুস্থ আছেন এবং কারখানাতেই আছেন। এসব ঘটনার পেছনে সঠিক কারণ বলা যাচ্ছে না। তৃতীয় কোন পক্ষ ইন্ধন দিচ্ছে কিনা আমরা খতিয়ে দেখছি। তিনি আরও বলেন, আজ শ্রমিক ও মালিক পক্ষের সঙ্গে বসে কিভাবে সমস্যার সমাধান করা যায় সে ব্যাপারে আলোচনা করব। শিল্প পুলিশের নায়েক সানোয়ার হোসেন আহত হয়েছেন।
১২ মে সকাল থেকে দুপুর পর্যন্ত চলা সংঘর্ষের পর বিকালে হামিম গ্রুপের কর্ণধার একে আজাদ, স্থানীয় সংসদ সদস্য তালুকদার মোঃ তৌহিদ জং মুরাদ, বিজিএমইএ’র অতিরিক্ত সচিব আবদুল খালেক, সার্কেল এসপি মনোয়ার হোসেন, আশুলিয়া থানার ওসি শেখ বদরুল আলম ও সংশ্লিষ্ট অন্যান্য মহল শ্রমিকদের সঙ্গে এক অনানুষ্ঠানিক সমঝোতা বৈঠকে বসেন। এ সময় সংসদ সদস্য মুরাদ জং শ্রমিকদের ওপর লাঠিচার্জের নিন্দা জানান। পরে বৈঠকে সিদ্ধান্ত হয় শনিবারের ঘটনায় যে ৭ শ্রমিককে গ্রেফতার করা হয়েছে তাদের ছেড়ে দেয়া হবে। ওই ৭ শ্রমিক হলেন- আক্কাস আলী, শাহীন, আলমগীর হোসেন, ইকরামুল্লা, রিপন, আলী হোসেন ও শহীদুল ইসলাম। এছাড়া শ্রমিকদের সব দাবি-দাওয়া মেনে নেয়ার আশ্বাস দেয়া হয়। বিপরীতে শ্রমিকরা আন্দোলন না করার কথা জানায়। ওই শ্রমিকদের ছেড়ে দেয়া হয়েছে কিনা জানা যায়নি।
এদিকে সর্বশেষ সংবাদে জানা গেছে, আজ ১৪ মে আশুলিয়া এলাকার সব গার্মেন্টস খোলা রাখার সিদ্ধান্ত গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে। শ্রমিকরা যথারিতি কাজে যোগদান করেছে বলে জানা গেছে। প্রশাসনের পক্ষ থেকে পর্যাপ্ত নিরাপত্তা দেওয়া হবে বলে জানানো হয়েছে। পরিস্থিতি শান্ত আছে বলে অত্র এলাকার একটি সূত্রে জানা গেছে।
