Some buses have been seen running in the capital Dhaka since morning. Especially the BRTC buses are running at full speed. Other buses, Tempo, were seen en route to the capital, Dhaka. A local bus was seen at Mohakhali rail crossing at around 10 am, the tempo was running. Adequate police patrolling the streets. Due to the vigilance of the police at various junctions, the picketers are not able to come near. All markets in the capital are closed. Only raw markets are open. There is a stagnant atmosphere in the area. The BNP office has been surrounded by police barricades.

Train with 2 coaches derailed in Ishwardi. 20 wounded

Our Ishwardi correspondent said that before the start of the strike, 2 coaches of the train from Ishwardi to Joydevpur were derailed in the morning due to the uprooting of a train line near the loco shed near Ishwardi station. It was reported that at least 20 people were injured while rushing down at that time. Train movement on Ishwardi-Sirajganj-Dhaka line has been stopped. Picketers also vandalized a local train leaving the station in Ishwardi. Until this news is received, another relief train is going from Ishwardi station and carrying out rescue work. It is said that the repair work of the line is going on, the train movement will be normal soon. Strikers set fire to a microbus in West Tengri area of Ishwardi. Strikers vandalized a private car in front of Ishwardi police station in the morning. Police arrested 4 people named Rezaul Karim, Feroz Ahmed, Sohail and Imran Suman in these incidents.
