The country's poultry sector is reeling under the crisis. Bird flu infection has reduced the production of day-old chicks, eggs and chickens by almost half. In this situation, ordinary farmers are angry with the non-cooperation of the local livestock officials. This sector has created employment opportunities for about 60 lakh farmers across the country. The amount of investment is about 15 thousand crores. 5 years ago such a crisis was created in the country's poultry sector. News paper.

It is alleged that no measures are being taken in advance to prevent bird flu. Farmers say that government officials did not go to many places for fear of having to pay compensation despite reports of infestation. Many farmers secretly sold chickens on this occasion. Due to these reasons, bird flu has a chance to spread further. Earlier, since 2007, bird flu has appeared in this country, but the government could not take any successful initiative to prevent this disease. Due to this failure, the entrepreneurs of this sector have claimed that there has been a loss of more than 7 thousand crore rupees in the last 5 years. According to sources in the Ministry of Commerce, the import of eggs and chicks has been opened on the pretext of controlling the market price of eggs and chickens. There have been allegations that international norms are not being followed in the matter of imports.

According to research, despite India being a country affected by bird flu, in February this year, a company imported 77 lakh pieces of eggs through Benapole port. In this regard, Moshiur Rahman, the convener of the National Coordinating Committee on Poultry, said that one of the conditions for the import of eggs and chicks is that the exporting country submits its certificate free from avian influenza. From February 2011 to May 2012, the Government of India reported cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza virus to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE). But the importers of our country are submitting certificates as 'India free from Avian Influenza' while importing poultry from India. Sources said a trading firm was allowed to import Grand Parentstock (GP) chicks in November 2011 despite repeated warnings. Abul Kasem, owner of Brothers Poultry in Shalna Bazar, said his farm was affected by bird flu but did not inform the livestock office. When asked the reason for not informing, he said, "When bird flu appeared in my farm last year, I informed but no one came." According to him, about a hundred small-medium farmers of Gazipur area have lost their lives in the recent bird flu. There are no chickens in the area. According to the farmers, visiting the livestock office is of no use. That's why they buried dead chickens themselves when bird flu occurred. Someone quickly sold the remaining healthy chickens when the chickens started dying again. Incidentally, there is no medicine for bird flu in our country. Biplab, the owner of Gramin Poultry and Hatchery in Rajshahi, said that except his farm, almost all the hatcheries were closed due to bird flu infection. Hatcheries in Rajshahi used to produce 80,000 babies a week, now only 8,000. Ordinary farmers are angry at the non-cooperation of local livestock officials. At the same time, they are angry with the failure of the Ministry of Livestock and the decision of the Ministry of Commerce to import eggs and chicken.

Considering these situations, action needs to be taken on an urgent basis. Because the poultry farm is not only meeting the country's meat demand, but the poultry farm is playing a special role in eliminating unemployment in the country. Many educated unemployed youth of the country have come to this profession without getting a job. And many have done as expected. The scourge of unemployment, which once worried them, has now become self-reliant. Established himself in business. The youths associated with the poultry industry have come to the attitude that if they work, they can establish themselves and also give something to the nation.
