In fact, the story of the city of Troy is mainly about war. We have heard many war stories throughout the ages. But we know this war is man to man. In the early days, however, war was fought with horses. There were no modern weapons then. Jumping with shields and swords on horseback alone was a staple of warfare at the time.
But then the only strategy was to win the war. Soldiers were also subject to feudalism. But strategy has a history of winning with fewer soldiers. One such brilliant victory was the Trojan War. In this battle, a little intelligence brought the Greeks back from the brink of defeat.
This is not a story of today but a story of 1184 BC. Ancient Greece and Troy which is now located in Turkey. A fierce battle took place in the city of Troy between these Trojans. You will be surprised to hear why this war took place. One of the reasons for this Trojan war was that Paris, the prince of Troy, kidnapped Helen, the beautiful wife of Menelaus, the king of Sparta, and took her to his homeland. And for that reason, King Agamemnon of Argos, brother of Menelaus, called the kings of the Greek cities to fight against Troy.
Listen to what happened next. King Agamemnon of Argos, brother of Menelaus, sailed to Troy with a thousand ships to bring Helen back. But they failed to rescue Helen when they reached there. Later they besieged the city of Troy for 10 consecutive years (1184-1194) as a strategy of war. But they also failed. After 10 consecutive years of no success, they think they cannot be defeated by force.
Now you have to lose with wisdom. As such, they adopted a new strategy. They made a huge wooden horse. Whose name was Trojan Horse or Horse of Troy. After making this huge wooden horse, a group of soldiers hid it inside and left it outside the walls of Troy. It continues like this. This great horse was made by a skilled carpenter named Appius. Abandoning the wooden horse, the Greeks sailed to the nearby island of Tenidos, pretending to flee. Thus the Greeks tried to convince the Trojans that this horse was given to them as a memorial of their defeat. The Trojans cheered and led the horse inside the city walls and celebrated their achievement. But they do not know that the enemy is hidden inside the horse.
Then the real story started happening. At midnight when the townspeople fell asleep. The soldiers emerged from the wooden horseshoes and opened the gates of the city, allowing other Greek soldiers to enter. They rushed in and attacked the Trojans. And where does it go? The war began. But due to lack of preparation, they are snack. The soldiers killed whoever they found and at one point set fire to the entire city of Troy. The once undefeated city of Troy turned into a ruin.
