It has been reported that during the strike on Sunday morning, there was a massive clash between the Jamaat-Shibir and the police in the Sarwar Bazar area of the Lalmonirhat Burimari land port regional highway. At least 2 people were killed in this clash, according to local media sources. At least 10 people were injured in the clash. The injured have been admitted to the Patagram Health Complex.
The deceased are Tamir Uddin's son Monirul Islam (25). The other is Karim Ali's son Abdur Rahim (26).
Citing eyewitnesses and police, the news media said that Jamaat-Shibir leaders and workers started picketing on the regional highway in Sarwar Bazar area during the hartal today. At this time Jamaat-Shibir workers vandalized the car. The police reached the spot after receiving the information and tried to stop them. At this time, Jamaat-Shibir workers threw cocktails at the police. At that time, the police fired shotguns and tear gas shells in self-defense. A bloody conflict ensued between the two sides. Several people were injured in this clash. Doctors on duty declared 2 people dead after taking them to the hospital. Patgram Health Complex resident doctor PK Das confirmed the death to the media.
