Murder of journalist couple Sagar-Rumi No one has been arrested yet. The police are trying to solve the theft!

Dhaka Times Report. The role that journalists have always played for the people of the country is not unknown to anyone with conscience. But that journalist has to be tortured again and again. Those journalists have to pay with their lives today. Journalists have to risk their lives while performing their professional duties. Journalists write against professional killers all the time. Journalists are always writing against terrorist-money laundering. Journalists are not exempting anyone from ministers. The fearless journalist of our country has collected news in Iraq by going to war. Journalists of our country are talking about common people, puffing their chests. But when those journalists are being tortured and killed, they are also getting away because of some self-interested people! Is it acceptable? As people of this civilized society we cannot accept it.

The police have taken a U-turn to investigate the murder of journalist couple Sagar Saroar and Mehrun Rooney. They are now trying to run it as a robbery. They say the killers are amateurs but have a bad temper. After the murder, they destroyed all the evidence. Khabar Dainik Yugantar.

After the murder, they deliberately destroyed the hand and foot prints before fleeing. Signs are destroyed by throwing powder like substances at different places. Because of this, the feet and finger prints recovered at the scene were not very useful. It is very difficult to identify the killers from the evidence recovered from the crime scene. CID officials say that after the murder, the killers changed their blood-stained clothes and ran away, but they took the evidence with them. As a result, even if the killers are considered amateurs, they appear to be of a 'brutal' nature. The CID officials said that they did this in a planned way because they had a preconceived idea about the post-murder investigation.

The newspaper also said that they are trying to prove that a thief entered the flat of the journalist couple on the night of the incident. The Metropolitan Detective Police gave a 'rehearsal' of how the thief entered the flat on the night of the incident. Meanwhile, the Sagar-Runi murder case was officially handed over to the intelligence agency DB on Thursday afternoon. Inspector Md Rabiul Islam has been given the responsibility of investigation. Shere Banglanagar police have explained the case docket to DB. Handed over as per seizure list along with other seized items. Although DB was investigating this case from the beginning. But the DB authorities claim that the pace will increase after officially taking charge. On condition of anonymity, a CID official told Jugantar on Thursday that several hand and foot prints were collected from the flat after the incident. But the impressions could not be clarified in the laboratory. The sharp blade used in the murder was also soaked in blood. As a result, no fingerprints were found there. After the incident, before the police arrived, the footprints were destroyed due to the white powder like substance being left behind. Handprints on the red cloth with which journalist Sagar Sarwar's hands and feet were tied were destroyed. After the incident, the CID police recovered 15 types of evidence from that flat. After examining the evidence, the CID sent the report to the Metropolitan Police on Wednesday. The CID official said that the signs have been tested separately in different labs. But no evidence could be found to identify the killers. That is why the second round of evidence has been collected.

The news of the newspaper also said, meanwhile, 5 days after the incident, a skinny child of 6/7 years was entered in the flat on the 5th floor through the cut grill of the balcony on Wednesday. According to the related sources, several teams of DB went to Rashid Lodge in West Rajabazar on the night of February 15. On the fifth floor of that house, Sagar-Runi couple's flat was next to the building and checked if anyone could climb to the fifth floor. One was disguised as a 'thief' and entered through a broken part of the kitchen balcony grill behind the fifth floor of Rashid Lodge from a neighboring building. The detectives also confirmed that it is possible to come out through the broken part.

After this, the work of making the plot of the drama 'Chor' started. On February 15, detectives appeared at Rashid Lodge with multiple videos and still cameras. A youth was taken to the rear of the apartment and shot through the wall to enter and exit Sagar-Rooney's flat on the fifth floor. In addition to capturing the entire scene on video camera, the detectives also took several still photographs. The video footage was then shown to several journalists individually. 'I have shown this video only to you, don't share it with anyone' - everyone is told.

According to the newspaper, the detectives hoped that the journalists would easily swallow this bait. Many will publish this important (!) information in the newspaper. The detectives will stage the drama 'Chor' after considering the 'sentiment' of the relatives of the victims, journalists and the general public. But the journalists did not fall for this bait, disappointing the detectives.
However, according to reliable sources, the detectives did not withdraw from staging the play 'Chor'. This video footage was shown to several journalists on Thursday as well. Several intelligence officers involved in the investigation told reporters with a tone of disappointment in their voices, 'It seems to be a case of theft in the end. Maybe the crooks killed Rooney first when they came to steal; Later, when Sagar entered the house, he was also killed. However, detectives commented that nothing clear can be said about this yet. Detectives said a sandal was found on the cornice of the flat. There are also footprints. The sample was collected by CID.
Finding sandals and footprints five days after the murder, and the 'thief' coming and going through the grill, is not easily accepted by anyone. After the incident, Bagha Bagha detectives spent hours in and around Sagar-Rooney's flat. But then why didn't they remember to visit the back of the apartment? Why did they not feel the need to inquire about this? Five days after the incident, why did they suddenly come to mind? Many people are looking for answers to these questions. Several journalists have questioned the intelligence officers concerned about the investigation. But no one agreed to comment on this.

However, Deputy Commissioner of Detective Police Monirul Islam said that they are examining everything. Don't want to leave anything in doubt.

Meanwhile, in an informal press conference organized at the media center of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police on February 16, the spokesperson of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Deputy Commissioner of Police Monirul Islam, said that the suspects have been kept under surveillance. When asked how many people have been kept under surveillance, he said, we don't want to tell the number at the moment. When asked about the arrest of 3 people published in the newspaper, the Deputy Commissioner said, 'We have not arrested anyone.' He said that the police have employed all their powers to unravel the mystery of the incident. Both North and South Divisions are functioning in the Intelligence Police. When asked if there are any media workers among those who have been kept under surveillance, he said, there are people of several professions in the suspect list.

In response to journalists' questions, Deputy Police Commissioner Monirul Islam said on February 16 that several media workers' mobile phones have been switched off since the incident. They are being investigated. When asked if there is anyone from Rooney's workplace among them, he said, "We do not want to say this matter now for the sake of investigation." He said that detailed information has been collected about those whose mobile phones are switched off.

Meanwhile, experts have feared that the general public may lose confidence in the law and order forces due to police hiding and plotting multi-faceted stories about the investigation. According to them, if the situation is not handled quickly, the government may face the anger of the informed people of all levels including the journalist community. And any evil force can take this opportunity.

Even after 6 days of the incident, no one involved in the incident could be arrested. However, the police say that they will be able to arrest the killers at any time. Many fear that it could be turned into a Judge Mia drama. However, we believe that the police will quickly arrest the real culprits and bring them under punishment to put an end to all speculations.
